Richard " Hamilton" Rice
Shareholder, President
Hamilton entered the asset management, excess component distribution and component recovery market in 1989 with a top 5 independent distributor, where he received the Employee of the Year award. During Hamilton's tenure at this independent distributor, Hamilton progressed from an Inventory Clerk to Inventory Manager to Purchasing, onto setting up Asset Management programs for fortune 500 companies, and finally to Director of Purchasing. In 1994, he established a component recovery division for a large precious metal refining company in Chicago.
In 1997, he established the foundation, known today as Technology Conservation Group, Inc. The inspiration to start TCG came from seeing the need of customers worldwide that had no global solution for all excess inventory, e-waste and reusable finished goods, which we refer to as "One Source, One Solution, Same Source, Same Solution" , throughout the world. Since the start of TCG, the company has experienced 25% plus growth each year since 1997.
Hamilton is responsible for strategic and business planning as well as the daily operations of the company. When asked about his motivation, Hamilton said: "Being able to contribute to the reduction of toxins and waste entering the world's lands and landfills gives me a great feeling that I am leaving this planet cleaner than when I entered -- leaving it cleaner for all future generations".
